Arrest – Ian Wood

On Thursday, December 29, 2022, Ian Wood, age 43, of Rolla, Missouri, was arrested in the 500 Block of West 2nd Street Rolla, Missouri, for Promoting Child Pornography 1st Degree, Possession of Child Pornography, and Invasion of Privacy. Wood was incarcerated at the Phelps County Jail pending warrants.

On Friday, December 30, 2022, two counts of Possession of Child Pornography (Class B Felony) were filed by the Phelps County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. A warrant was issued for Wood’s arrest. His bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety. Wood remains incarcerated at this time.

The investigation of Ian Wood was initiated as a result of a Cyber Tipline Report by an internet service provider, whereas suspected child pornography was uploaded and saved. During the course of the child pornography investigation the detective discovered evidence of invasion of privacy whereas adults were filmed without their knowledge or consent.

The evening of December 29, 2022, Wood was interviewed at Phelps County Sheriff’s Department. Wood provided details which corroborated the evidence and identified victims.

Assisting the South-Central Missouri Computer Crimes Task Force were the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Technical Assistance Team.

The charges which Wood have been arrested are merely accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before the court of competent jurisdiction, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
