On Sunday, April 3, 2022, at approximately 10:26 pm, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Howard Johnson Drive, Rolla, Missouri, for lane violations. Deputies contacted the driver, Marcella D. Ramirez, age 51, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. A canine was requested based upon observations and information gained while speaking with Ramirez.

The canine had a positive alert on the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and located an estimated 11.7 grams of methamphetamine, 12.1 grams of fentanyl, and 2.6 pounds of suspected heroin. Ramirez admitted to transporting the narcotics from New Mexico to New York for money. Ramirez was arrested for trafficking drugs 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.

On Monday, April 4, 2022, an arrest warrant was issued on Ramirez for Trafficking Drugs or Attempt 1st degree, Trafficking Drugs 2nd Degree, Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and Felony Resisting/Interfering with Arrest. Her bond was set at $250,000.00 cash or surety.

The charges for which Ramirez was arrested are merely accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
