"Shop with a Cop," officially known as "Cops Care," is a heartwarming initiative by the Phelps County Sheriff's Department. Our mission is to provide Christmas presents to underprivileged children in Phelps County, ensuring that every child experiences the joy of the holiday season.

How the Program Works

Each year, we partner with our local law agencies, which include Missouri State Highway Patrol, FBI, Rolla Police Department, MS&T University Police, St. James Police Department, Phelps County Central Communications, Doolittle Police Department, Newburg Police Department, Edgar Springs Police Department, Missouri State Park Rangers, Missouri Conservation, Missouri Probation and Parole, Phelps County Juvenile Officers, Phelps Health Public Safety, and many more.

Children are given the opportunity to be partnered with a law enforcement officer for a unique shopping experience at our local Walmart Department Store. This program not only meets immediate needs but also fosters positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.
